Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale, a Nigerian American pro basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She played in the NCAA basketball tournament with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, before being drafted by the Wings with the fifth overall pick of the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale is Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. She has two brothers Mario (26 year older) as well as Dare Ogunbowale (20 years old). Since she was the smallest of her siblings, she was the one who was most spoilt from her family. Her father Gregory was a soldier with the Nigerian Army for quite some duration. Ogunbowale has a very energetic family. Her mother Yolanda was a softball player at DePaul as was her brother Dare was a footballer. Aunty played tennis at UAPB. Also, her cousin Endia is also a volleyball player on the field at Tennessee State. Ogunbowale was on the list of honors at her high school three times in a row. While in high school, Ogunbowale has received numerous awards and has was recognized as a celebrity. Arike graduated from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School located within her own hometown. While studying at the school, she also played three seasons of varsity soccer. Ogunbowale's extraordinary abilities helped her school capturing stunning victories multiple times. Through her time at high school she's scored started 73 times and has 1 477 points total. In addition, she has 739 rebound. Ogunbowale was awarded gold medals in the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship, as well as the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship. The 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team was announced on 7th July 2014. Ogunbowale also has been named on the ACC All-Freshman Team after her first season as a collegiate player. Kobe Bryant himself congratulated Ogunbowale for her NCCA Tournament big shot. Ogunbowale's basketball career has gotten starting off well, and she will continue in that direction.
